March 30, 1998 M/V "SPIRIT OF CAROLINA"
The 92'x30' Dinner Cruise/ Excursion Vessel "Spirit of Carolina" was delivered to FT. SUMTER TOURS, Inc., for operation in Charleston, South Carolina. Naval Architecture Services for the vessel were provided by DEJONG & LEBET, Inc., Jacksonville, Florida. The Vessel was Built by FREEPORT SHIPBUILDING, Freeport, Florida. The Vessel is USCG certified under Subchapter K for protected waters. Her passenger capacity is 455 persons. She features two (2) enclosed dining decks, each with restrooms, a bar, and wait stations (the dining rooms total approximately 3800 sq. ft.). There is an open third deck with Pilot House and canopy covered area. A 450 sq.ft. galley is located below the main deck. The Main Deck level features clear-span deck beams in the overhead, for a stanchion-less, uncluttered floor plan. The vessel features a full length Main Deck dining room, with an aft Mezzanine level. This provides three distinct advantages to the layout of the vessel by stepping the galley into the hull below the mezzanine, adding high ceilings in the way of the Main Deck dining area, and providing a better view of the Main Floor from the Mezzanine. This vessel has a dining capacity of 260 persons.
