SOLSTICE is a 1998 74' Hatteras motor yacht. In 2009 it was
converted to a USCG Subchapter T Passenger Vessel for up to 49 passengers.
DeJong and Lebet handled was responsible for engineering the modifications to
the vessel so it would admeasure under 100 GRT with a registered length of under
65 feet. The boat deck was converted to a passenger deck with a new aft stair
and rails were put around the decks in compliance with 46CFR. A collision
bulkhead was added add all the vessel systems were updated to be in compliance
with the regulations. The owners, Water
Fantaseas, charter the vessel out of the Miami / Fort Lauderdale area. This
is the second Hatteras motor yacht converted to USCG passenger service by DeJong
and Lebet. The first, BLUE
HORIZONS, operates in the Baltimore / Annapolis area.
