m/v LADY JANE
The LADY JANE is a 57 foot shrimp boat built in 1987. In 2006, Captain Larry Credle decided to convert her to passenger service. DeJong and Lebet provided all naval architecture services. This included required modifications to the structure, to the piping systems, and a stability analysis. The vessel now operates out of Brunswick, Georgia, as a USCG certified 49 passenger shrimper. Following are a couple of excerpts from their webpage:Welcome aboard the LADY JANE - a United States Coast Guard certified 49 passenger steel shrimping vessel recently retired after years of loyal service to the shrimping industry. She has been painstakingly refurbished for your cruising pleasure. Lady Jane is the only shrimp vessel on the entire east coast that has been certified by the USCG to carry 49 passengers.Take a few hours out of the day and spend it aboard Lady Jane. Here are some more photos of the vessel following the conversion to passenger service: |
